Looks like intuition was right in terms of percent of overall player base:

#Horde #Earthen: 0.3%
#Alliance Earthen: 0.2%

That's the unlock gate in action, right there - it killed adoption

I wonder how #Blizzard #developers feel about gating new races on days of new questing requirements to unlock them, after you've paid for the content

That code probably never gets seen by the majority of players
