#Art #ItalianArt #EarlyMedievalArt The Classe treasure, early 7th century CE. These seven spoons and a goblet were possibly the property of a high-ranking family. The spoons are decorated with crosses, vegetal patterns and animals. The name RUTA is carved in one; another has a monogram that may mean TEODERICUS. The back of the goblet reads YOANNHOU in Greek. This John may have been a banker mentioned in some documents, who lived in the same area in the 6th-7th century CE.
