1st day of #EV ownership, 1st EV myth busted.

We were told that you couldn't level 1 charge in cold weather... our garage door is busted and waiting for parts so we stuck a level 1 charger into the outdoor 120v socket we used to use for the block heater, expecting it to not gain any real range but hoping it would keep the battery warm without drawing too much range down. In -16°C temperatures, not counting the wind, we gained about 21km in 8 hours (our daily average drive is 20 to 30km).

Turns out you can level 1 charge in cold weather 😎
