Went from owning no EVs to two in the span of a couple of months. My only regret is not doing this earlier. And yes, the Mini gets a ridiculously low range, but it sure is fun.
Also, you should only charge an EV to 80% on the daily, but Mini's 100% is actually 80% as it blocks off the last 20% from the user.
I've been going through my EV charging invoices, putting them into a spreadsheet, and doing some calculations.
So far, I have clocked in around 1050 miles (1690 km) and have paid $128 in charging (mix of Level 2 and DC FC). That puts me at around $0.122/mile ($0.0757/km).
Granted, some of those charging sessions included sitting in the car with the AC and music on to stay cool. So, I ended up paying more since that siphoned some of the energy the car would've put into the battery pack.
If I take the average of highest tier gas (required for my previous 2017 A4 allroad) for the month of May of $5.35. At an average of 20 MPG (8.5 km/l), it would've cost me $0.2675/mile ($0.166/km).
Total cost came to $5.28 for an estimated 110 miles of range, inclusive of connection and service fees.
That is the cherry on top of the already great night (and why I charged my Trailseeker) with Pink Martini.

Got paid public level 2 charging, a little over a dollar an hour (when spreading out the $0.25 session fee) at 5.75 kW is nice given gas prices.
After 4 hours, it's gained 85 miles of range.
$4.00 would net me (optimistically) 14-16 miles in my former A4 allroad at current gas prices.

In my previous blog post, Omnibus Update: April 2026 Edition, I mentioned that I would collect my thoughts on my 2026 Subaru Trailseeker after 3000 miles (4830 km). I am planning to do that write-up after having the car for 3 months rather than 3000 miles.
Since I really dislike the case that the adapters for NACS to J1772 and NACS to CCS1 that came with my Trailseeker (mostly because of the hook-and-loop piece on the bottom), I've just been storing both in the storage space under the arm rest.
Would be nice if there was a more elegant place for them that isn't the under floor storage in the back, but I guess it works for now.
Wheelbarrow checked-out the newly commissioned Ionity charger in Invernessy this afternoon. It's a bit more civilised than the Rose St carpark basement, for sure.
302mi round trip to Hopeman and back. Squeaked home with 15% SoC / 35mi remaining on the GOM.
Also found Clasach Fault / Cove. Very impressive normal fault in Permian sandstone.
