The Line Of Best Fit on Instagram: "Watch @tyler.ballgame cover David Bowie for Best Fit's secret sessions at End of the Road Festival On a rainy day at End of the Road Festival this past weekend, a voice of an angel sang out as Tyler Ballgame wowed with a cover of David Bowie's "Life on Mars". Tyler's cover, which was you can watch below – is taken from the Bowie's 1971 no-skips record Hunky Dory – and was part of Best Fit's secret sessions, which also saw performances from The Orchestra (For Now),Throwing Muses, Silver Gore, Truman Sinclair, Jake Xerxes Fussell, The Sophs, Ellie O Neil, Man/Woman/Chainsaw, jasmine.4.t, Lily Seabird, and Stewart Lee with Black Country, New Road. The LA via Rhode Island crooner signed to Rough Trade Records earlier this year and is gearing up to release his debut full-length album, For The First Time, Again, produced by longtime collaborators Jonathan Rado and Ryan Pollie. Best Fit's secret sessions have become a key part of End of the Road each year, bringing together artists from across the line-up in a series of short sets, exlusive cover, collaborations, and live interviews and Q&As. Past guests have included Lucy Dacus, St Vincent, Wilco's Jeff Tweedy, Moses Sumney, Laura Marling, Patti Smith, and Frightened Rabbit - who played a now iconic version of "The Modern Leper". Tickets for End of the Road Festival's 20th anniversary edition in 2026 are onsale now from endoftheroadfestival.com"

Boom! Got two consecutive #bbc6music shout outs for the same #eotr2025 post by Steve Lamacq and Huw Stevens. Going for the hattrick with Emily and Nathan.

I watched possibly the best performance of my life yesterday - David Balfe aka For Those I Love, playing his breathtaking eponymous album which is about the loss and guilt of losing his best friend Paul.

I've added links to video of the first track Of The Sorrows https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mp-f6cG6rco and his performance of I Have A Love with Overmono at Glastonbury https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M0sTX3h5BOA&list=RDM0sTX3h5BOA&start_radio=1

The visuals for the performance seem to have been remastered in UHD versus the Youtube videos, they were mindblowing.

And I am blubbing as I write this. Truly beautiful.

Who doesn't enjoy a Tropical Fuck Storm of a Sunday evening? #eotr2025

Bambara, Big Top. Studied coolness from NYC band. Good show, slightly marred by crappy sound near the front.. moved back towards the mixing desk towards the end and it was far better.

As you can imagine I spent quite a bit of the set thinking the tight B-A pair kern was nice, but why didn't they tighten A-M and make the extended slabs of B and M the same width

I just went to the bar and two twenty somethings complemented me on my Pavement t-shirt, so I was obliged to tell them about the time I went to a wedding in Princeton and PAVEMENT WERE THE WEDDING BAND and WE CHATTED TO THEM AT THE HOTEL BAR then WENT TO SPIRAL'S ROOM FOR AN AFTER PARTY. They were suitably awestruck. #eotr2025

Ok, it's an official duvet day. I've seen 1.5 bands today before retreating to my tent with an only slightly soggy banh mi. Heavy rain forecast for the next 3+ hours. Feel sorry for any bands playing outdoor stages as they'll probably have < 200 people, and anyone queuing for hours to get into a tented stage.

Got red wine, got the Fediverse. Would kill for a packet of chocolate hobnobs though.

Festival crush update: after updating @TheBreadmonkey on my wholly unrequited and inappropriate crushes on singers Georgia, Dana and Leah (BCNR, Porridge Radio and Mysterines respectively) at #greenman2024 I had very few crushes at #greenman2025:

Total mancrushes on Perfume Genius and That Hot Guy from W H Lung, and also on John Glacier (a woman).

At #eotr2025 I had a mild to moderate swoon at Sharon Van Etten, but this morning fell head over heels in love with Photography Babe at The Sophs. She had long black hair in a black cap, a black leather jacket and a 100-200mm telephoto. I didn't even get a chance to see if it was a Nikon or Canon, for almost as soon as she fell into my life, she left to go photograph another band.

Farewell Photography Babe, I shall love you until the day I die or the day that I forget you, whichever is the sooner.

Couple of great bands. Dame Area, Spanish neo industrial that got me very sweaty, then Horse Jumper of Love, with some delicious slow core. #eotr2025
.
Quite smitten by Smote. Loop + GOAT = Smote. Grinding instrumental with bass guitar and flute. #eotr2025
