A week on from the EOSC Symposium, we look back at the event and highlight our key takeaways and thoughts from a lively and productive week, full of interesting talks and meeting friends old and new.  The team was present at the Symposium with an exhibitor booth alongside other Horizon Europe projects and stakeholders, leveraging the multitude of networking opportunities on offer, while also supporting the organisation of the event behind the scenes, and chairing sessions.

"In 2019 GÉANT launched a tender as part of the OCRE project for pan-European #procurement of commercial #cloud services.

Now services from 18 Multinational and 8 National providers can be easily and compliantly accessed by the R&E community via the #EOSC Marketplace."

What is the role of commercial providers in #EOSC?

At #EOSCsymposium23 Jan Meijer (Sikt) shares outputs & lessons learned of procuring commercial data and services through the @geant -led OCRE project and in the context of #EOSC.

"The public procurement acts as a gating process for commercial services to become part of the EOSC portfolio. This brings many benefits for institutions and #researchers, as easier access and lower complexity, better terms & conditions, collective buying power".
