Angry at no show tradies yesterday, I sat & stewed. Decided to ride today. Trains checked. 8:30 works. Out of bed at 9:30.🤦 I could still do it, but now I was mad at me. I'll show me. No train needed for the Oaks down & back, & I even bumped into a bloke I've known for over 50y.🙂

Still bloody hard work, but less bloody hard than 2w ago 😁 also—bloody glorious!

Still cold, but sun came out, battery full, what to do? [tiny breadmonkey on my shoulder whispers "just do it"]

I did it.

Same old same old, but a route I've never combined into 1 before. I only retraced about 500m. Riding was, of course, wonderful. I really enjoyed today, especially the nice jumpy section in the little loop. Hard work, but I felt strong. Mostly 2 of 4 Es.

I rode again! Only 15km all up (12.79 shown), & frankly easy, despite a Cat 4 climb. Of course I used Es! Not all of them, though. 😁

The beauty of Murphy's Glen & Linda Rock is, well, the beauty. Massive eucalypts, & 180° views over the Sydney basin to the harbour bridge. Sure, mostly smoggy these days (even today, no bridge for me), but it's always nice & can be stunning.

I've always loved mtb riding. Even hard rides became good memories. I lost weight, got fit. But life, well, it fucked me up. I gave up riding for reasons, & got fat again.

I bought an eMTB, it was great, rode it for a bit, then less, then hardly ever. Last year, I lost weight, my MH improved, & I rode occasionally. Loved it.

But I still couldn't get motivated. A bagful of valid excuses.
