@janl hehe .. well here I think the “good news” is that there is plenty of money for this. the problem is that this money currently is send to Redmond. the other issue is that public sector procurement policies are not build enough around the idea of public goods.

even the swiss law #EMBAG that mandates open source for public sector procurement only applies to custom development, not for funding the development of open source so that no licenses have to be paid by anyone.

Nun hoffe ich stark, die Regierung des Kantons Zürich die Kraft der Motion erkennt, diesen entgegennimmt und dann schnell ein gutes Gesetz erarbeitet.

Und dann hoffe ich noch viel mehr, dass auch im Kanton Zürich viel mehr in Open-Source entwickelt wird und so der Austausch verbessert und die Qualität gesteigert wird.

Berne, 02.10.2024 - Les autorités fédérales doivent publier le code source des logiciels qu’elles développent ou font développer pour l’exécution de leurs tâches. C’est ce que prévoit l’art. 9 de la loi fédérale sur l’utilisation de moyens électroniques pour l’exécution des tâches des autorités (LMETA), dont l’application incombe aux différents offices. La Chancellerie fédérale a élaboré des outils d’aide à leur intention."
