This new woklette didn't stay in its original state for long!
The built-in temperature control just wasn't reliable enough for our members, who brought it to the lab for a cozy woklette session.

Naturally, they couldn't resist upgrading it and now it features full web control and a sleek interface, all thanks to a bit of creative vibe coding and maker spirit.

ABLIC makes a real-time clock that doesn't keep time: It's a crystal-controlled I2C-programmed wakeup timer. It can be set to cause an interrupt after any number of seconds from 1 second to 194 days. They even make one where the crystal is built-in to the package.

200 nano amp consumption. Might be useful for IoT sensors if your micro and power supply can't get their consumption that low. #electronics #electricalengineering

Automotive Convenience Timer – ABLIC Inc.

ABLIC Inc., inheriting the Seiko Instruments Inc. semiconductor business, offers low current consumption CMOS timer ICs which are suitable for relative time management and enable the setting of the alarm time or the interval time arbitrarily.

That is so weird. Analog devices makes what is essentially a dual-channel digital volt meter, but it's a brick module. It even uses SCPI, the protocol normally reserved for test equipment. I suppose it must be for creating automated test equipment. It's a new product too, not 90s era obscure tech. #electronics #electricalengineering

Pontus and some other members tidied up in our electronics corner yesterday. Just look how much usable space there is now! We never had so few boxes standing around in our L-room! <3

I bought these buck converters to power a 12V fan with the 24V power supply of my soldering iron, and when I powered one on with 24 V, it immediately smoked. I’m pretty sure I didn’t reverse the polarity (unfortunately, I desoldered it, now,) but I didn’t connect anything to the output, and now I notice that one of the pictures say not to use with no or light load (< 10% of output power.)

Is that really a thing? #Electronics

No Sound on TV – What to Check Step by Step

Quick answer:If your TV has no sound, the most common causes are muted audio settings, incorrect output devices, loose cables, or software glitches. Start by checking volume and mute, then verify audio output settings, cables, and external devices. In many cases, the issue can be fixed in minutes without technical expertise. Step 1: Start with the Obvious (But Often Missed) Before assuming a hardware failure, rule out the simplest causes. These account for a surprisingly large percentage of […]
