The built-in temperature control just wasn't reliable enough for our members, who brought it to the lab for a cozy woklette session.
Naturally, they couldn't resist upgrading it and now it features full web control and a sleek interface, all thanks to a bit of creative vibe coding and maker spirit.

ABLIC makes a real-time clock that doesn't keep time: It's a crystal-controlled I2C-programmed wakeup timer. It can be set to cause an interrupt after any number of seconds from 1 second to 194 days. They even make one where the crystal is built-in to the package.

this book was in my basket when i logged on to nostarch to get the 2024 edition rust book in paper form so i had to buy it. it somehow arrived before the rust book?!?
I bought these buck converters to power a 12V fan with the 24V power supply of my soldering iron, and when I powered one on with 24 V, it immediately smoked. I’m pretty sure I didn’t reverse the polarity (unfortunately, I desoldered it, now,) but I didn’t connect anything to the output, and now I notice that one of the pictures say not to use with no or light load (< 10% of output power.)
Is that really a thing? #Electronics
