I converted a non-working radio into a speaker. Uses a 1W LM386 audio amp to drive the original speaker with a mono 3.5mm jack for input

The radio was originally manufactured in Downsview, Ontario by Westinghouse Canada in the late 1950s

Tindie's website has been 'down for maintenance' at least four days straight that I know of; possibly longer. But I can find nothing indicating *why*. A search for recent news about Tindie returns zero articles.

Something is certainly up with #Tindie, but no one is talking about it that I can find.

After more than 10 years gathering dust, I finally built my Softrock RX II. Now I have to get it going under Linux.. #HomebrewRadio #HamRadio #Electronics
Tomorrow (Sunday, April 19, 2026) is the first MIT swap of the year. This is an electronics flea market/hamfest held at MIT inside of a parking garage every month during the non-winter months. It cost $6 to enter ($5 if you print out a PDF from their website.) lots of retro computing, Arduino, ham radio, general electronics, and associated fun stuff https://w1mx.mit.edu/flea-at-mit/ #electronics #cambridgema #mit #hamradio

I'm actually going to solder up a 555 for the first time in nearly forever because the waveform generator ordered a month ago with 7 day delivery time won't be here for another month. I've had the numbers 0.693 and 1.44 in my head rent-free since secondary school in the 1980s, now to put them in the right places... thanks Mr L. I remember being excited about using half a 556 to trigger the other half. Such a nerd.

@tindie

So no notification of upcoming maintenance up front, no communication at all in several days of downtime. And now you want us to believe that this is a planned migration?

I do hope Tindie comes back alive though, cause that gives me reasonable time to organize an alternative.
