Das cyberintelligence institute (#CII) sowie das European Institute for Computer Anti-Virus Research (#EICAR) haben gemeinsam zu den von der Bundesregierung neu vorgeschlagenen Befugnissen zur aktiven #Cyberabwehr Stellung genommen - das Fazit ist leider fatal:
Eine erhebliche Befugnisausdehnung von #Bundespolizei und #BKA im #Cyberraum, ohne dass grundlegende Herausforderungen wie Attribuierung, Schwachstellenmanagement, Verfahrensschutz und Transparenz beachtet werden.

I know it's fun to put the EICAR AV test file all over the place ... but it's not doing what a lot of people seem to think it's doing.

Since its purpose is to be an executable, implementations are required to detect it at the beginning of a file, and only the entire file. If they're finding it somewhere else, they're doing it wrong. (Which may itself be problematic ... but it's not the problem that most people seem to be EICAR'ing for.)

Any anti-virus product that supports the EICAR test file should detect it in any file providing that the file starts with the following 68 characters, and is exactly 68 bytes long.

Zusammen mit dem assoziierten „European Institute for Computer Anti-Virus Research“ (#EICAR) hat das cyberintelligence.institute (#CII) die Stellungnahme zum neuesten #NIS2-Referentenentwurf zur heutigen #Verbändeanhörung im #Bundesinnenministerium auf 32 Seiten vorbereitet - unser Fazit: leider noch viel Luft nach oben, trotz mehr als 2 Jahren Umsetzungszeit!
