I am recovering after #EF28, nearly managed to make the drive to Hamburg on a single tank of diesel (would have, if I wasn't going over 100 driving to, to make the Cyberboat), but definitely pulled out a thousand+ km out of a 17 year old Altea and had zero issues on the road (apart from a haunted rear door). Going with friends in a car is a different experience and I thank Altro, Ami, and Milo for letting me do that.

Now, EF... What an experience. End of a tremendous year, a year of change and upheavals. Last year I knew I'm trans, but I haven't worked up the courage to transition yet, but had a lot of opportunity to think. This year, I have socially transitioned, on HRT which is showing results surprisingly fast (you don't know the joy of being called Mrs or seeing budding breasts in the mirror), divested myself of toxic relationships and a job that was eating me alive, found a wonderful community of queer people and expanded my circle of friends and allies among furries - the community that kept me alive in my darkest moments when I was a lonely teenager in a conservative, Catholic household - and experienced a second con when I knew the ropes, friends, and what I needed. I had a blast hanging out with people, chatting up artists, panel heads, gaining valuable knowledge and leads for future adventures.

My confidence grew tremendously as a woman, in no small part due to this fantastic support, and as a furry even further. I love this community. Especially the approachability. I met Willow/Glowpossum, the artist whose works helped me see the joy of trans experience and embrace my trans feminity (and got a hug and dedication, and could explain just how grateful I am), met @Mlice and got amazing pins and met just about the coolest yeen in Europe, Tapatap, Dana (Abandon Ambition), @kianga and everyone else at the #EF28Fedi meetup, where I had such a good time my head would fall off if the smile could be any wider, hung out with @hamburgator, my friend whose effortless confidence helped inspire me to transition, with Amurtigress, NoteFox, Nikki, Aatheus, Rysia and her crew, Deadlylama, Euphrates, Bushman (you scare me dude, in a good way) and Ailo, Sam and Apori, Wade, Dustin, met Jasiri in person after years of knowing him online, fangirled over Nomax and Bubblewolf, will provide data for Kirei... So many people, so much gratitude to everyone.

It was also full of bombshells. Like every day, I dealt with my emotions and cried as the magnitude of everything hit me - and every day had something new in store, like a mail from a trans clinic I contacted in Berlin, and on Friday the available appointments for my first SRS surgery, an orchiectomy (which was the only cigarette I smoked and only beer I drank during EF, the former thanks to Sven the emotional support train shepherd). So next month I'll likely be going under and closing a chapter of my life for good. A milestone on my #transgender path. Opening up about the stress also taught me a valuable lesson about asking for help and not being afraid to seek it. I'll be posting a small fundraiser in the coming days with the details why and how, but this was such a huge part of the con and it's impact...

Tremendous. Above all, I want to thank everyone for making it the highlight of the year and helping a trans girl in her moments of weakness and sharing in the moments of happiness and pride.
