Here's a practical tip for everyone at #EARLI2023 conference:

The catering at #HELEXPO is much better than that at #UOM. And the place is (usually) less crowded as well.

Trying to pay online for a guided tour at the #EARLI2023 conference, I ended up here. Sending credit card information over an unsecured connection? Sorry, I don't think so. 😒

Edit: As I received a confirmation mail even though I did not proceed, my guess is that the website handling the payment redirects the user to an unsecured site ~after~ the transaction is completed. Still, it was quite a shock as you don't see that kind of warning too often, especially not on payment websites.

Andreas Frey suggested: the LL hypothesis is argued by disruption of learning routines. If digital learning tools were established, there was not much disruption going on regarding school closures. „Establishment“ of digital learning tools should be studied as a relevant moderator in future meta analysis.

Yesterday we discussed Covid caused Learning Losses in an invited symposium. LL are found in meta analysis, which are dominated by US and UK data. We took a look on 3 german speaking countries and found no relevant impact on learning performance (when using assessment in digital learning environments).
