Welcoming a New Member to our Area 6 Committee! 🌟 We are excited to introduce Prof Igor Calzada, MBA, FeRSA as the newest member of the Area 6 committee of the Data & Policy journal and Data for Policy! 🎉 Prof. Calzada is a Full Professor in Social Sciences and Humanities and Principal Investigator in Ikerbasque at University of the Basque Country, and Cardiff University / Prifysgol Caerdydd / WISERD. He is also a Fulbright Scholar in California (USA) and collaborates with the Decentralization Research Center (Canada). With a career spanning institutions like the University of Oxford, European Commission DG Joint Research Centre, and UN-Habitat (United Nations Human Settlements Programme), Prof. Calzada's research focuses on decentralization, Web3 technologies, and AI, including blockchain, DAOs, and data cooperatives. His research is pivotal in exploring how emerging technologies, such as decentralization and AI, can tackle global challenges like sustainability, inequality, and security. His expertise will be invaluable as we work toward innovative, data-driven solutions for these pressing issues.
