My mother, Dr Sarah Traister Moskovitz, died on 1 September 2024 through Medical Aid in Dying (MAID). It was one of the most beautiful things I’ve ever witnessed. She was 97. This is the story of how she came to end her own life.

Good Morning #Canada
Canada’s Medical Assistance in Dying legislation was passed in 2016 allowing individuals to die with dignity on their terms. Dissenting opinions on MAID continue but the law has resulted in an increase in organ donations. In Canada, Belgium, the Netherlands and Spain, a total of 286 people who sought euthanasia provided organs to save the lives of 837 people - almost half of those came from Canada.
