My favourite time of day is the first rays of sun on a damp or foggy morning. This time I was already running late and missed the rise of the sun. I knew there had to be something in this area that could make a great photo. Then I saw the light hitting the forest at the other side of the lake. The high humidity at the other side of the lake makes this photo really my catch of that day.

The winter is coming to an end. And the spring is banging on the door. But still it isn't showing its true potential for the viewer. So I had to do it with this serene scene and the colour of the grass. Can't wait to see all this sprouting again.

Currently, there's a huge difference in temperature in the Netherlands. The region where I live is below zero degrees and in the south it is already 9 degrees and feels almost like spring. A temperature difference of more than 10 degrees in just over 200 km. So they probably can't understand how I could make a photo like this today

In my previous post I already said it was cold and there was a lot of snow in the Netherlands. The temperatures stayed almost constantly subzero degrees. With the fog rolling in, it made the grasses covered in rime. That was an absolute bonus for me. What do you think of it?

[13:26] Oude en jonge schaapherder uit Ruinen: ‘Veel is nog hetzelfde, maar rust is er niet meer’

Wanneer de mist optrekt, laat het Dwingelderveld zich weer van zijn mooiste kant zien. Op de toegangsweg van het bezoekerscentrum richting schaapskooi aan de Benderse zijn stratenmakers van Buning uit Zuidwolde druk bezig met het leggen van de klinkers. Het asfalt is weg, voormalig schaapherder Jan Mos ziet dat het netjes gebeurt. Net om de hoek wijst Mos naar de herderswoning. „Daar is onze dochter geboren, we hebben er een mooie tijd gehad.”
