Went out yesterday with my buddy to the #barnowl spot in our area. Unfortunately the farmer was mowing the field right behind the shed, so it was a lot later than usual before the owl showed its face. Still managed to get a good shot!

It's been too warm this weekend to do a lot of birding in my usual haunts like Arkemheen. Only on Saturday early morning I spotted this little owl between the foliage in a willow tree at the polder in #Hoogland. 🪶 #birds #birdphotography #littleowl #steenuil #athenenoctua #heatwave #DutchNature

The last 2 evenings I've been out watching and photographing these long-eared #owlets in #ParkSchothorst #Amersfoort They are so fun to watch hopping branches and sometimes cuddling with their branchling siblings but most of all waiting for the parent to bring them dinner!

I'm planning to go see them again during the daytime tomorrow, hopefully some better light conditions!

Magnificent, stoic, but also a little bit clumsy looking, the spoonbill is always an interesting sight. I hadn't seen one in breeding plumage before yesterday.

One of my buddies tipped me about a location where 5 #juvenile #kestrels were preparing to leave their nest box only a small detour from the polder I went to visit this morning. By choosing a wide aperture, I limited the depth of field to the bird, allowing it to stand out clearly from the background. This creates a soft and dreamy atmosphere, while the gradual transition from darker tones on the left to lighter tones on the right subtly reinforces the bird's gaze and direction.
