Monitoring disappearing file formats 1: Introduction - Open Preservation Foundation

The Dutch Digital Heritage Network's Preservation Watch issued an assignment on monitoring the lifecycle of file formats. The purpose of this was to investigate the predictability of aging file formats. Rein van ‘t Veer started this project as “data scientist.” This article explains the intended approach to the project and what questions form the base of the research.
