Chris Perkins announced his retirement after 28 years from WotC today (effective today). He was one of my favorite Dungeon Magazine writers, I enjoyed his work during 3e, worked a bunch of times with him during 4e (and he made my writing better each time), and again enjoyed his work during 5e. Have a happy and well deserved retirement!

A few weeks ago, I posted about my favorite Dragon Magazine cover, so I thought that I would now post my favorite Dungeon Magazine cover. This one from Issue #13 just screams D&D to me, given the weird mishmash of influences as a Tyrannosaurus Rex crashing through the walls of a medieval building. Plus, you don't see bright colors like this used in many other D&D context. Art by Fred Fields.

I got a notification today that MyComicShop was selling Dungeon Magazine #1 for $15. I won't say how much I paid for my copy just in case my wife finds this post, but let's just say it was more. Looking at their other recent offerings, I think they may need to do some more research before offering Dungeon Magazines for sale...

Earlier today, @phd20 asked for some #TTRPG shelfies, and while I posted one, the favorite part of my collection is all of my Dungeon Magazines (issues 1-150). Here’s a quick video I took! #DND #ADND #DungeonMagazine

This came up in conversation tonight. Back in 4e, I pitched and wrote the first draft of a Domain of Dread entitled "Karog's Maw" to Dragon/Dungeon Magazine (I preferred the original title, "The Teeth"), but it was ultimately rejected. I haven't thought much of it since 2011, but I figured people may find it interesting. I threw a copy and the accompanying maps I drew in a public Drive folder:
