I have been known to rail against #brutalist public #architecture, but after a few days in #DunedinHospital with the amazing staff tending to my sons broken leg I’m thinking there is nothing more important than looking after our health professionals, resourcing them, paying them well, and yes .. making their work places comfortable and beautiful.

This was remarkable; 35,000 people in Dunedin and another 1,000 protesting in Westport in defence of the original plan to build a new, proper tertiary hospital in Dunedin yesterday.

We need more and better hospitals, not cut down versions, which will always be inadequate. That gets us nowhere.
