BLOG POST: #DuneRPG which I GMed for the first time because our Star Trek Adventures captain was unable to make it to the Friday night session. The scenario was based on Modiphius' Wormsign quickstart scenario. I was worried I wouldn't be able to wing it in the Duneiverse, but I think it went well.

Last night, I ran Modiphius’ Dune RPG for the first time, as a one-shot, using the Wormsign quickstart scenario as an adventure template. To The Deep Desert Location: City of Arrakeen, Planet Arrakis.Time: 2 weeks before the official Atreides arrival, year 10,191 AG. “Given the right lever, you can move a planet.” A retinue of Atreides House Agents with Servant Hassan Diago (Razzman), Junior Mentat Sharah Fell (Ivan), Swordmaster Apprentice Marcus Syn (Doug) and Former Spice Smuggler Corbin Bralik (Ivan) are sent by Swordmaster Duncan Idaho to check on a reported smuggler encampment 150 km south of the city of Arrakeen. The party, packed uncomfortably into a thopter, flies towards a freak weather event that conjures sudden, violent dust devils. An Atreides retinue ahead of the Atreides arrival is sent by Duncan Idaho to look for a hidden encampment of spice smugglers 150 km south of Arrakeen.
Mentat Sharah aids everyone with her knowledge. Swordsmaster Marcus pilots their thopter. Smuggler Corbin aids them. House Servant Hassan plans to negotiate, but they are ambushed by what seems to be Harkonnen agents among the smugglers.

cybergothsThe Fall of the Imperium #2d20 #Dune #ttrpg by #Modiphius presents a fantastic campaign but is riddled with typos and layout errors that let the writing and lively artwork down. As a result, it feels rushed to have been on the market as the film is in cinemas.
This is the Dune campaign I wanted from the start so I’m a bit disappointed. However, there’s some great gaming material in this.
