woooo, today I got the Rise C kit from extremeRate installed. this kit converts a ps4 controller from usb micro to usb c, and it also adds four "remap" buttons on the back, which can be programmed to copy another button on the controller. it's tournament-legal, if you care about that.

I wish they'd go back to written guides. not a fan of the video instructions. But I was able to figure it out, and I admit, it does give me a lot more views of where all the wires go.

this is definitely the hardest kit of theirs I've done so far due to the thin wires. I only burnt myself with the soldering iron twice!

I do *not* want to go back in there again. which means... I can start covering it in stickers, and not worry about having to peel them off later!

Ух, купила Dualshock 4

#Dualshock4 #Sony #Playstation

The one thing that peeves me about the #DualSense is that, on PC over Bluetooth, it's objectively worse than the #DualShock4, because the BT bandwidth isn't enough to send haptic feedback and there's no fallback to standard rumble. When will @sonyplaystation.bsky.social release a dongle?

Проблеми з акумулятором Dualshock 4... #ps4 #dualshock4

Long shot, but does anyone know if the Lithium Ion battery inside a #PS4 #Dualshock4 (I know there are two different connectors) has charge protection circuit built-in or does the controller handle all that.
I am toying (sic) with the idea of fitting a non standard replacement battery.
I may bodge a couple of throw away vape cells together.

#Android app that tracks the #DualShock4 's light bar position and sends the coordinates to a PC.

(Android devices tend to have way better cameras than the webcams that are available on PC)

No #DualShock4 #LightBar tracking on #Linux ? Awwww...
First impressions using the #GuliKit KK3 on the #SteamDeck: ......... pretty shit. Lots of periodic, consistent delay or rather, skipping (?) going on with the (left) stick(s). Navigating thru the #SteamOS UI, horizontally or vertically with the left stick would sometimes but regularly, suddenly produce an extra step i.e. move left stick to the right once, moves the UI to the right twice, same with left/up/down.

Pretty freaking weird, seeing how I've never had this on the
#DualShock4, #DualSense, or the #XboxOne controller. This is while using the USB dongle, which is really nice to have, and post-calibration. Need to test further tho.

Update: this issue might have been caused by using the KK3 via its wireless dongle (with the Deck). Perhaps more specifically, it might have been caused by using the wireless dongle, while the dock also has attached to it another wireless dongle for my Logitech mouse - haven't tested disconnecting it tho, and using the KK3 on WiFi alone. Switching to use the KK3 via Bluetooth seems to have mitigated the issue.
I've grown up with #PlayStation controllers all my life, from #PS1, to #PS2, #PS3, #PS4, and even without owning/playing a #PS5, its #DualSense controller. My fav has got to still be #DualShock4 - that thing is so light and thin, yet slaps and has not shown its age at all. They last seemingly forever too from my exp, only complaint is ofc it using MicroUSB instead of USB-C, due to its age.

I bought an
#XboxOne controller a few years ago and barely used it bcos I had issues with it... on fuckin #Windows lol. Recently got it out of my chest to test it with #SteamOS. My take is: its sticks both the sticks themselves and their placement are just... meh compared to PS controllers. Their triggers are okay, the triggers on DS4 for instance aren't perfect either but I'm just more used to them so there's a bias there. Its three "menu" buttons are at the wrong places lol compared to DS4. Its D-PAD THO freaking slaps, prolly the best I've ever used.

My biggest issue with it is its battery. While it's nice (I guess) that it uses replaceable AA batts, they don't last very long, and charging them (given that you use a lithium pair) can be a bit troublesome, seeing that they last shorter than DS4. Another issue specific to SteamOS is that for whatever reason, while it works perfectly on the
#SteamDeck controls itself or any of the PS controllers, #Steam + A (X on PS) combination just doesn't work 99% of the time with the Xbox One controllers. Another, bigger quirk that happens on my Steam Deck (and from what I could recall even on Windows), is that upon bluetooth connection, it won't work right until 1+ min or so. Before then, it seems to have connected but nothing works, and you'll have to wait until it vibrates twice before it would then work as expected.

All in all, weird but cool (I guess) pair of controllers. As much as I kinda like it in its own way, I wouldn't mind selling it off (or shelve it if I have the storage) and replace it with maybe a
#Switch Pro controller if they're any better.
