The Prairieland Defendants — aka the DFW 10 — are being denied basic rights: no public defenders, no medicine, no calls or visits from loved ones, no vegan/vegetarian meals, no gender-appropriate placement. 🚨 The state’s rolling out the terrorism label again — this time for a noise demo outside an ICE detention center in Texas. No, seriously.

On July 4th, 10 anti-ICE protesters were arrested outside the Prairieland facility in Alvarado. And now the pigs and their bootlicker allies in the right-wing media are spinning it into some fantasy about domestic terrorism — the usual fear-mongering to justify locking people up for standing with migrants.

Bail is set at $10 million each — a fucking obscene number that makes it clear this isn't about justice. It's about sending a message: “Resist ICE, and we'll bury you.”

And look, as someone who’s been labeled a “terrorist” just for making media, I know damn well how useful that label is to the state and fascists alike. It doesn’t just ruin lives — it disappears people. These comrades are now facing charges that carry 10 years to life. For what? Showing up and raising hell in defense of human beings trapped in ICE cages.

The abuse of process application alleged RCMP used excessive force while arresting the accused in November 2021, and that the group was treated unfairly while in custody. It asked the judge to stay the criminal contempt of court charges or to reduce their sentences based on their treatment by police.

Tammen said it would be inappropriate to stay court proceedings, but found that some of the accused's Section 7 rights— life, liberty, and security of person — were breached during the police raid.

Tammen said these rights were breached when several police officers on two different audio recordings were captured comparing Sleydo' and Sampson to orcs and ogres for wearing red hand prints painted over their mouths — a symbol that represents missing and murdered Indigenous women and girls.
