Just watched "Drive a Crooked Road" and while I was skeptical about Mickey Rooney in a film noir written by Blake Edwards I have to say that I think it ended up being the best noir I've seen the last couple of years.

The thought of Mickey Rooney in a film noir written by Blake Edwards made me equally giggly as intrigued. I had no idea what I would get and that is always fun. And since I knew nothing about it I thought the film started with a visual gag: We get a closeup of Rooney in a helmet on some kind of race track and I, in my lonesome, blurted out: "OF COURSE he plays a jockey!"... and then we get to see he is driving a race car. I don't KNOW if it was intentional, I doubt it, but it
