I have been playing around with my #Dreadbox Nymphes, trying to learn how to use it. I'm still not very good with it, but one thing I've learned is that its expression controls are very powerful. It has two LFOs, one can be used for pitch/filter, and the other can modulate almost any other parameter. The power of that second LFO can really bring some character to the sounds. #ElectronicMusic

The #Dreadbox Nymphes is an interesting synth, and I have watched tons of videos where people will play with it for 30 seconds and get amazing sounds out of it. But when I try to make a patch, it always sounds like too much or too little filter, too buzzy or too muffled. I'm getting comfortable navigating its archaic menu system (it doesn't have a screen so it uses secondary functions depending on what buttons are pressed). I am actually better at making sounds on the DigiTone, an FM synth!

Here is a mild take: new #Dreadbox #Artemis 6-voice #analog #polysynth could be arguably better #instrument #design without the #DSP #FX section. It only complicates what already is a difficult challenge for the #musician - to understand what is happening in the #signal #chain when using presets. Lack of user feedback in #UI is the problem that the manufacturers should be focusing, not how to add reverb. For me that is a fundamental issue with Dreadbox instruments, sadly also with Artemis.
