Looks extremely clear cut, and also worrying as the same guy got a podium spot in Atlas Mountain Race this year. But good that they take a very clear stance here.
Trans Balkan Race on Instagram: "The Organization of the Trans Balkan Race officially announces the disqualification of rider Radosław Gołębiewski, race number #100, from the 2026 edition. The rider was disqualified for receiving unauthorized external assistance, which directly violates Rule #2 regarding total self-sufficiency. This happened multiple times, and photographic proof was collected yesterday in Nikšić, 74 km from the finish line. After the presence of an unannounced and unauthorized external media team close to Checkpoint 1, concerns arose about possible external support connected to Radosław’s race. Race Direction decided to collect further evidence before taking any action. Several attempts to meet Radosław at his sleeping and resupply locations were unsuccessful, including one in Žabljak on Monday night. Not wanting to act on allegations alone, the Race Director and crew waited for Radosław outside Nikšić and followed him. Radosław turned off route toward a parking area to meet a person in a van with Polish license plates. The same vehicle had also been reported around the CP1 and CP2 areas. The person in the van proceeded to provide Radosław with a full resupply. Photographic evidence was collected before Race Direction left the scene. The Trans Balkan Race is an unsupported race. Equal opportunity and fair play are core values of our event. An external support compromises the integrity of the race and the efforts of all other participants."

They just disqualified the rider leading the race. 😮 They're not giving any details yet, but looks like it relates to breach of rules regarding "support". (Duh!)

Not dotwatching HMR too closely this year. But it looks like leader of the race had to scratch because the seatstays of his carbon frame broke. 😮
His German 'scratch report' sounds pretty frustrated about the amount of money he invested to still not win.

Frau mit Fahrrad [DECT 3863]Die erste Fähre setzt über. Krass wie viele Rider keine Fähre nutzen und wie viel Vorsprung das trotz 90km Umweg ausmacht (für mich einfach eine Tagestour 🤣).
Die zweite Fähre des Tages wird ebenfalls bummsvoll mit Rädern sein.

Is it just my impression that HMR this year has fewer "big names" than before?
Maybe it's with the new mountain race in Turkey that riders distribute better (or top riders chose that one)? A lot of local (Berlin) people are also doing Trans Balkan Race next week. Might also play into it that many went there instead of HMR...
