This week's Hamburg doors include a circular brick portal crowned with a Jugendstil frieze of water lilies, pale blue-green against red brick. It's the same aquatic motif that obsessed Art Nouveau ornament designers, the same era Monet was painting his Nymphéas series at Giverny.
