Hello fellow #retrocomputing people! How can I make a #DoorGame available without running a full-blown #BBS in front of it, using #FOSSIL ? The DWHOST program from #Doorway can do it but, stupidly, it does not support FOSSIL despite Doorway itself - which DWHOST is supposed to sit in front of - support and even recommend it... (This is all pure #DOS so no Linux/unix/windows solutions will help..)

I have fond memories of playing SRE (Solar Realms Elite) on a few different #BBS systems back in the late 90s.
I tried to play it on internet archive DOS emulator, but I couldn't get it to start.

Thieves' Guild was a fantasy roleplaying door game for Atari ST BBSes. 🕹️

It included an optional "emulator" (front-end client) that provided graphics, animation, and sound effects. The pixel art for this client is pretty amazing for a BBS game.

Before any of you #RetroComputing folks tries running a #BBS or #DoorGame inside #DOSbox, you should know it's not designed for security, so you should isolate it the same way you would any piece of unmaintained software you're making accessible over the network.
