Alfonso Cuarón – „Children of Men“ (2006)

Kurz Luft holen. Dann ansehen! (ARTE, Wh.)

Mellow Yellow by Odell Brown & The Organ-izers, released on Cadet in 1967.

Graham Reid wrote on Elsewhere:

The smart money was on songs with instant appeal, like Donovan's Mellow Yellow which organist Odell Brown and his band the Organ-izers -- tenor players Thomas Purvis and Duke Payne, bassist Louis Satterfield, drummer Curtis Prince and conga player Henry Gibson – swung their way through with ease.

Odell Brown enjoyed some minor success with his band but more when he moved behind the scenes and became an arranger for the likes of Johnny Nash and Curtis Mayfield and did some string arrangements for Minnie Riperton on her '74 album Perfect Angel and the disco-influenced album Stay in Love (1977).

His greatest moment perhaps was co-writing Sexual Healing with Marvin Gaye (for whom he had been an arranger and player in the studio and in concert).

Brown died in 2011 at age 71.

Mellow Yellow is the fourth studio album by Scottish singer-songwriter Donovan...

The songs on Mellow Yellow represent a transition in Donovan's writing. Donovan's songs had previously illustrated his ability to define the mid-sixties pop music scene. On Mellow Yellow this is still evident in "Sunny South Kensington", "Museum" and the title track, but is also tempered with world-weary observations of that scene ("Young Girl Blues").

According to a recent biography ("Darker Than The Deepest Sea: The Search For Nick Drake"), the album was a significant influence on Nick Drake.

Writing for AllMusic, Bruce Eder notes the album is more diverse in its sounds than Sunshine Superman and calls "Sand and Foam" "hauntingly beautiful", while identifying "Museum" as a sequel to "Sunshine Superman" and a precursor to "There Is a Mountain" - Wikipedia
