Dieser Film, in dem eigentlich nur gesprochen wird, funktioniert nur über den Klang, Rhythmus, Akzent und das soziale Wissen, das über die Sprache in seine Figuren eingeschrieben ist. Sie ist kein Transportmittel für die Geschichte, sondern ihr eigentliches Material. Da ist die synchronisierte Fassung in der ARD-Mediathek nicht nur unbefriedigend, sondern konzeptuell eigentlich völlig verfehlt. Sie gibt zwar den Plot wieder, entzieht dem Werk aber all seine künstlerische Substanz. Nirgendwo ist die Abwesenheit der (englischsprachigen) Originalversion mehr zu beklagen als hier. (ARD, Neu)
