EndemicEarthlingBerejiklian's disgraced deputy #JohnBarilaro (who also resigned due to #corruption allegations) boasted of such behaviour, both in parliament, where he claims to have been speaking ironically/sarcastically, and in recently revealed audio of meetings with supporters where it is clear he is proudly admitting to the practice.
NSW ICAC is yet to publish its findings with regards to Berejiklian. However, since these allegations relate to the misuse of public funds, then it would be odd if this investigation did not also implicate her then treasurer, since any funding would have needed to have been signed off by him.
Who was Berejiklian's treasurer?
Current NSW Premier Dominic Perrottet, currently two days out from potential re-election.
Yet #ICAC have had to delay their report into Berejiklian, due to budgetary constraints limiting the pace of their investigations.
Given the significance of the work ICAC does, how did it come to be underfunded? That would be due to budget cuts by (checks notes) #GladysBerejiklian and her treasurer, #DominicPerrottet.
Two more days until the NSW state election.
NSW has an Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC), a statutorily independent government-funded watchdog with investigative powers that have at least a little teeth to them. The kicking and screaming from the federal Coalition over NSW's ICAC and their long-term opposition to the establishment of anything like that at a federal level illustrates that ICAC is not entirely useless.
Indeed, two of the last four Coalition premiers in NSW have resigned directly due to ICAC investigations, including the current premier's predecessor, Gladys Berejiklian, who was exposed by ICAC as being in a secret romantic relationship with a backbench MP, Daryl Maguire, who himself was a prime suspect in a major ICAC investigation, and has now been charged with a variety of criminally corrupt activity.
Gladys Berejiklian has also been accused (amongst other things) of engaging in pork-barrelling (a.k.a. the abuse of public funds for partisan ends), a practice that #ICAC has condemned as a form of #corruption, yet which Berejiklian herself basically admitted to in parliament, saying (paraphrased only slightly) "everyone does it".

Dominic Perrottet was slimy and defended him with weasel-words. As Brittany Higgins said, "The more things change the more they stay the same".

I would strongly encourage #ChrisMinns to make this a bipartisan issue because #ClubsNSW must not be allowed to roll #Perrottet and consolidate their hold over NSW even more.

Why now? Inside Dominic Perrottet’s plea for voters’ forgiveness over his Nazi outfit
Disclosure: I am a lifelong social democrat, humanitarian, republican and unionist. I don’t like #DominicPerrottet’s politics, I’ll never vote LNP, I don’t support privatisation of public infrastructure and I don’t believe we should fund private schools.
Wearing a Nazi uniform to his 21st birthday was a stupid (probably smartarse) idea but I don’t believe someone who had such a high profile in student politics can sustain a naivete defence. Whether his actions over the past 20 years demonstrate this prank was an aberration is far more relevant.
Notwithstanding all the above, if this hatchet job is a coup sponsored by the gambling industry in an attempt to kill off the cashless gambling card in NSW then there is bigger fight to be fought.
I will watch further developments with interest.
