The FBI has issued a federal #subpoena to #domainregistrar #Tucows, demanding extensive billing and session records to unmask the anonymous operator of https://Archive.ph (https://Archive.is and https://Archive.today). Just in case anyone had any doubt, #GoDaddy is the worst of all possible worlds. What a shitshow.

I'm looking for good alternatives to Cloudflare for domain registration and static hosting. I saw quite a few recommendations for porkbun out there, but it seems that they run their services through cloudflare?

My static site is through hugo, so if there is nice tooling for publishing that via CI/CD, that is a plus.

Mainly looking for companies that have demonstrated having values that aren't aligned with far-right folks.

Dear #Gname domain registrar, please grow the fuck up and fix your "report abuse" process.

1) I reported on whois "report abuse" email
2) In reply was asked for information that was in initial report
3) I was asked to fill in proprietary form to "report abuse"
4) Next I was asked to "provide evidence", which I did *not*, I just re-sent the same information
5) The domain was blocked

Can anyone recommend a good domain registrar? I want something that isnt hosted in a privacy-adverse country like the US. I was originally looking at Swiss based providers, on the idea that their goverment might be more privacy oriented...maybe not so quick to hand over info.

Back in March I had moved one domain over to Infomaniak as a test. Service seemed good and reliable and I liked the idea of their document hosting. However, Im glad I held off:

我的 .tw 網域目前放在 godaddy,今年底要續約的話要 TWD 999。看了一下移到 gandi 的話大概是 TWD 744 (移轉是 604),dynadot 的話是 USD 18,後者比較便宜,不知道有沒有 dynadot 這個 domain registrar 的使用經驗?

About to buy a new domain name (for my new silly project that may or may not be a good idea).

For the first time (except for .fr domains) I'm going to buy one NOT from a US registrar.

Not sure which one should I pick. OVH or Infomaniak?

Anything I should know about them? (any red flags I should be aware of, like for example, Gandi used to be awesome but was recently bought out and not to be advised anymore)

Would anyone like to recommend a good domain name registrar? Or any I should avoid? Looking for services located in Europe, not owned by any overtly evil empire, must support DNSSEC and reasonable prices for .com and .org.

I've come across the below web page but I'm looking for recommendations from someone who has actual experience with using the services.
