A ★★★★ review of Dollman (1991)
Oh wow, Albert Pyun... what have you done?! This film looks, and I mean this sincerely; incredible. The cinematography alone is a five-star achievement. The effects carry that true B-movie charm, and Anthony Riparetti -who I had never heard of before, absolutely knocked it out of the park with the score! So why not a perfect score? Well, as cool as Brick Bardo (what a name!) is, the one-liners and script aren’t exactly top-tier. The jokes sometimes work, but other times, you wonder if they’re intentional or just poorly written. That said, every actor gave their best, even the kid...
