So I feel horrible and guilty and sorta hate myself right now. I needed to get bloodwork done for Birger before I go to get him neutered to make sure he won't have reactions to the anesthetic or meds etc. They tried last week and he SCREAMED, I could hear him in the waiting room(they took him in back to do bloodwork). He didnt growl, or try to bite or anything but was screaming and they couldnt take blood because he was so stressed. So they sent me home with some meds to give him the night before and morning of before his bloodwork to help him be calm. Except his bloodwork got moved to the afternoon, so I got up at 6am and had to give him both a pill and a liquid med, and then again two hours before his bloodwork. I DONT LIKE SEEING HIM DRUGGED. He's tired and not his self, and I feel horrible for doing this to him. I know it's for his own good but I just feel wrong and like a horrible person. The bloodwork did get done, and he didn't scream and he's currently resting after looking out the window for a bit. I just.....I don't know how to feel. I have to go through this again when he gets neutered and the days after while he recovers. Am I overreacting? Did I do the right thing?
