HEY! What are YOU doing on March 16th-St. Patricks Day Eve? I'll tell you what I'm doing. I'm going to be at the St. Patrick's Day Eve Drums and Space w/ Daft Phish & Djembe Orchestras of Colorado show at Herman's Hideaway in Denver, CO
Djembe Orchestras Of Colorado will start the fun by facilitating an open-to-ticketholders drum circle that will start shortly after doors open at 7pm. At 8pm Daft Phish takes the stage followed by US -Djembe Orchestras of Colorado -at around 9pm when we'll unveil 3 iconic Dead songs newly arranged for Djembes, Djuns and Vocals by Gregg Hansen and performed by the Higher Ground ensemble portion of Djembe Orchestras.
The evening will be wrapped up from about 9:30 to closing by Drums and Space performing all your favorite Dead songs!
Herman's will be LIT. Feel free to be lit too by BRINGING GLOW STICKS if you have them.

A perfect night at Herman’s Hideaway in Denver with Drums And space and BreadBox giving perfect tribute to the Grateful Dead and Jerry Garcia. The lights, the sound, the dancing, joyful crowd and we were there too, and did our drums and vocals version of new Speedway boogie and the crowd cheered.

Couldn't agree more with the quote attached to this meme about how a good groove is what good #drumming is all about. Mickey Hart has said some profound things about the experience of drumming and I pretty much agree with them all. Best known as a rock n roll drummer for The Grateful Dead, he also had a deep love of, & respect for #djembes and other hand drums.
In a July 2022 interview he said: "There’s the idea of representing the drum in its glory, in its original indigenous form, played in the grooves that it was made for. There’s an argument for that and I’ve done that on many of my records. For me, in this moment, though, it’s not necessarily about a great djembe sound; it’s about how that sound moves me. By using that drum as the basis of operations that triggers some other kind of processing, I can take that djembe, or any drum, and transform it into an orchestra or something much larger or different."
