If folks are going to #DjangoCon US sprints, please sign up early! Tickets are free and we'd like to try two new things:

1. Host virtual office hours ahead of the conference to help people get their machine's configured.

2. Announce and promote the projects that are being sprinted on!

If you're attending, let us know. The ticket process has new questions for whether you're new or leading a project. You can also email us at sprints@...

Let's go #Django!

Some news I'm excited to finally share...

@foxleytalent is SPONSORING DjangoCon US again this year.

That's 4 years running now. πŸ¦„πŸ¦ŠπŸ‡ΊπŸ‡²

To go with this announcement, I've written a blog post about why I keep sponsoring and attending conferences.

Did this post from #DjangoCon Europe organizers make its way to Mastodon? It was new to me.

I loved the call out from @amcasari to watch @marcgibbons talk "Finding 2.0" from #PyConUS last year.

Finding 2.0 with Marc Gibbons

In the world of library development, achieving version 2.0 often takes years, if it's achieved at all. Surprisingly, nearly 90% of packages published to PyPI using semantic versioning have a major release number of less than two. What makes reaching this milestone so elusive? If we applied software versioning to …

I missed last week, but no worries. This week's #LunchTalk makes up for it. It's from @josh from #DjangoCon US 2024. It's his talk "An Opinionated Guide to Modern Django Forms".

Give it a watch to learn about Django's form improvements!

What an incredible three days it's beenβ€”full of everything we hoped for and more. Thank you to each and every one of you for being part of DjangoCon Europe 2026. None of this would have been possible without you. We hope you had as much fun as we did. 🫢 πŸ‡¬πŸ‡· 🌺

I just published a recap of my DjangoCon Europe 2026 πŸ‡¬πŸ‡·

It’s a timeline of all the posts I shared live during the conference, with photos and small moments along the way.

Dear fellow @djangoconeurope folks, paying the post-conf body tax this week? πŸ§˜πŸ»β€β™€οΈ

If your neck & shoulders have been complaining (like mine πŸ˜‡πŸ€“) about 3 days in the auditorium plus backpack & laptop-schlepping duty plus plane + train rides, here are two yoga videos that really helped me loosen up this week:

Felt a release in tension even after the first session. Big recommend 😁

Last sprint morning for me at DjangoCon Europe 2026 in Athens πŸ‡¬πŸ‡·

Tried to wrap up a few things I had started, helped where I could, and spent time talking and saying goodbye to many people.

Also gave a hand bringing lunch for everyone, small things but part of the whole experience πŸ™‚

Big thanks to the organizers πŸ™
