2025 DataCite Board Applications

Thank you for your interest in the DataCite Board. Individuals from DataCite member organizations are eligible to stand for election. If you wish to apply for the 2025 Board Elections, please complete the form below. Applications are due by January 31, 2025. As part of DataCite’s commitment to equity and diversity, and to address identified diversity gaps, the election committee encourages candidates from Africa, Asia, LATAM and Oceania to apply. In addition, individuals from smaller organizations, non-native English speakers, and those representing diverse perspectives, including visible minorities and historically disadvantaged individuals, are specifically invited to stand for election. Board members serve three-year terms. The DataCite Board meets approximately four times a year, with meetings lasting 1-3 hours. We try to host one in person meeting annually (co-located with a community event) and limited travel support is available if needed to support board members from emerging regions. 2025 Board Election Process: Six positions will be up for election in 2025, including two re-election seats and four vacancies. The election committee will review nominations from October 2024 to January 2025. Successful candidates will be put forward to the General Assembly for voting in April 2025. Board members are elected individually, and we will ensure alignment with the strategic needs of the DataCite, including a balance of skills, perspectives, and regional representation. In line with DataCite’s mission, the election committee prioritizes diversity, including gender, regional, career-level, and racial representation.
