Fedora.. me? Yeah. For a while.
Distro hopping on spare hardware getting ready for an Installfest. Just put Fedora Workstation 44 on an older Lenovo Thinkpad Carbon. They are so intimate I blushed. ;) Looks like Fedora just downloaded patched and updated bios and other firmware automatically (I clicked "Yes"). And I gotta admit, pretty slick overall. Let's hope I won't jinx it, but #solus is looking and working pretty nicely on my PC. Blazing fast boot times, better framerate in VR, and eopkg is just flying, the fastest package manager I have ever seen.

I have a HP Mini 210-1000 with 1.66GHz N455, 2GB LDDR2 RAM, 128GB SSD and a 1024x600 10.1" screen.

I have tested most distributions, and *all* of them require the system to be at least twice as performant to be usable, especially if I browse the web. The closest I have gotten to be bearable, is to install CLI-only (or i3wm) and manually install whatever properiertary drivers for the broadcom and iGPU to make it as portable as possible.

Is there anything better?
