This might sound like a sensible plan from #NorthYorkshire to reduce travel costs and send pupils to the nearest school.. but round here we are close to the border of #Lancashire #Cumbria and #NorthYorkshire so it leads to a ridiculous mess. #SettleCollege currently has many students bussed in from #Ingleton and #Bentham.. but under new #SchoolTransport plans those kids would be sent over to #KirkbyLonsdale in #Cumbria because #QES is fractionally closer. If parents want pupils to go to other schools they will have to pay for transport...but... #QES is already full with no capacity to take all those extra pupils. Don't get me started about the failings of the new #UnitaryAuthority and loss of local knowledge due to the demise of #DistrictCouncils...sigh... https://www.northyorks.gov.uk/news/2024/new-home-school-travel-arrangements-north-yorkshire-approved

#hongkong #districtcouncils #elections will not let people to decide what happens in their district, it's the #CCP that decides as the majority members in the council are appointed. This making Hong Kong closer to #YetAnotherCommunistCity
