I’m working on my dissertation proposal: Pedagogical Friction in the Age of Generative AI and Tertiary Algorithmicity.
The core issue is not just cheating or tool use. It is what happens when AI allows students to produce fluent academic work without the cognitive, rhetorical, or authorial labor that learning is supposed to develop.
I’m studying how K–12 educators and leaders distinguish productive friction from exclusionary friction.
