For this week's disquiet the prompt was to do something you've been meaning to do, hence the title "Make It Happen". In my case, I've been wanting to do more with field recording since it's something

I created this track by developing sounds and patterns on the Yamaha SeqTrak, which I then performed live against a recording of ocean waves.
I hope you enjoy my contribution to this week's Disquiet Junto project!

The magic of the waves – their endless movement and eternally changing rhythmic sounds... This track is an homage to this phenomenon. It was created and performed using the Yamaha SeqTrak and recorded

kept meaning to revisit this almost sine wave like pad sound from having triangle waves filtered way down. two ever so slightly detuned triangle waves with independent pitch sequences. field recording
Disquiet Junto project 0743 was to finally do something you'd been meaning to do, so I got out the soundstone (knockoff ebow) that I bought years ago and never tried. I'm playing on my swiss cheese guitar - a very cheap solid body guitar that I drilled a bunch of holes in to try to make it lighter (see reply).

Genre speculation: what if mathematical precision met emotional vulnerability?
7/8 time signature, Fibonacci phrase structures, perfect intervals — played with tender, intimate dynamics. Cello sings through perfect 4ths and 5ths while violin pizzicato keeps asymmetric pulse.

The Assignment: An exercise in genre speculation.
Step 1: This is an exercise in genre, pondering what an imaginary genre might consist of. Consider the speculative genre called “sensitive math.” You know nothing about it except its name.
Step 2: Record a piece of music that exemplifies the “sensitive math” genre. When posting the resulting track, describe to some degree what you have come to think of as the characteristics of this genre.
Deadline: Monday, March 23, 2026, 11:59pm (that is: just before midnight) wherever you are.

My first Disquiet Junto track in quite a while: the assignment is bells and drones, so I used my favorite bell from the Optigan Magnificent Organ disc, and for the drone, the sound of the airplane I'm on right now plus some lo fi Mellotron chorus.
I have no idea what this track would sound like if I weren't surrounded by airplane.
