After more than a year, right on time for the price increases, I got my vps working today.

So many firsts:
- first provisioning via disko
- first encrypted root via disko and unlock via ssh in initrd
- first certificate generation via nix builtin acme service
- supply of acme credentials via sops-nix

So I finally have my own Forgejo up and running again and some webservices having a vpn connection to services in my homelab.

A lot of development without #ai is just loopback s and thats the opportunity to think the only reason I code, with #ai not only that opportunity is gone , but also you get in to more loopback s , and worse reliability/hr
Idk how it works I didn't know #qemu had no time to #RTFM , so I just used virtualization options of #nix
When I wanted caching for my vda I used #disko
Yes thats why I like maximalist tools
Yes but I should ve understood how qemu #libvirtd and nixos-vm differ in their approach to isolation

I wrote a helper function mkBtrfsRAID to make defining btrfs raid collections more ergonomic in disko. It has the “other” disks formatted with an empty partition table, so disko knows about them and asks for wipe confirmation on formatting. I finally managed to build a image for my #Raspberrypi using #disko.

The Pi boots with UEFI and has a LUKS paritition containing BTRFS.
There is still a lot to do but I'm getting really close to a usable state.

I still find it very satisfying to build these kind of things with #NixOS

Hi, it's been a while (again). I've been feeling better over the past few weeks. Coincidentally, my Framework Desktop finally arrived. It's a cute lil machine that I really love. Like any other machine I get my hands on (except macbooks lol), I install NixOS in it!
