Ultimately we would like to get into stable housing that isn’t so expensive, but for now this is what we need to survive our housing crisis.
We also are seeking stability and have a fundraiser going via GoFundMe that is more of a longer term solution to our housing crisis.

In March of 2024, my mother and I were evicted and our lives were thrown into chaos.
Hi, I’m Sabi Lewis (@SabiLewSounds on most platforms) and I am a disabled/ chronically ill artist who is the primary caretaker for my elder mother who is also disabled and struggling with dementia.
Like so many other people we were living one crisis away from the edge. Our crisis came in Summer 2023 when I lost my main source of income and our housing became unstable.
Since then my mother and I have been living in emergency housing paying for a hotel one week at a time. At a rate 3X times than our previous rent. Everyday, I am emergency fundraising for our housing, our food, our car.

@mutualaid Sabi is now down to $793 toward the total and $410 toward the hotel fee. She luckily still has access to WiFi. Since she and her mom, who has dementia, have been unable to leave the room, mom has been getting agitated.
