Seems the answer is National have targeted the TVNZ #NZPol journalist with a bit of good old fashioned #DirtyPolitics after she had attempted to ask Stuart Smith to explain his absence from caucus for the top secret national caucus vote of confidence in Luxon.
Smith has featured in media reports about Luxon’s leadership, included claims the Prime Minister had ghosted Smith’s attempts to contact him before Easter over concerns about flagging support in caucus.
Simeon Brown had said he believed the actions breached parliamentary rules by following Smith into a corridor area, “an area where media interviews are not allowed without express permission”.

So it appears the #NZPol National Party, this time via political troll Ani O’Brien, have decided to go all out on attacking TVNZ, now targeting Maiki Sherman for an alleged homophobic slur from last year.
