Last night we got to play with my new Dirtside designed vehicles. It was a NATO v Russian forces, with some modern and near-future vehicles. Most of a unit of T-80s was wiped out, then the Russians took advantage of the closely grouped NATO units and got some really good results with their artillery and things went downhill from there.

It's difficult to fight a war when you can't roll anything higher than a 2 in most of the engagements.

I'm getting an itch to play some near future wargaming, a sort of Twilight 2000 but shifted 40-50 years into the future.

To this end, I've bought some modern 6mm vehicles and have started trying to come up with stats for them for use in Dirtside II. Since this is designed for SciFi it requires figuring out how to best make use of the low end of the technology scale.

There's some room for SciFi elements as well of course.

Looking to expand my range of 6mm figures for use with Dirtside, I decided to go with some modern vehicles and picked up some Challenger 2 tanks and T-80s. I plan to put them to use for near-future SciFi wargaming, but there's no reason I can't do some Modern warfare with Dirtside.

I got them from Heroics & ROS, and I'm going to try painting these ones before buying any more.
