• OFC #Diplomats can be kicked out anytime for any reason and it's common to do so as a gesture of disapproval of someones' foreign policy and alongside banning said personnel from reentry ("persona non grata") is the harshest penalty as per vienna diplomatic convention.

Again, if @europarl_en / @EUCommission found someone daring enough to do #diplomatic work w/o the legal protections then I'd say "good luck"...

• I'd just not do that as a matter of principle given the fact that #CPB isn't even bound to #visa and can decline entry and deport sb. with no legal recourse for the affected individuals!

Major structural changes to #State would be accompanied by #layoffs of both career #diplomats, known as foreign service officers, & #CivilService employees, who usually work in the dept’s HQ in DC…. The dept would begin putting large numbers of workers on paid leave & sending out notices of termination….

The draft #Trump EO calls for ending the foreign service exam for aspiring diplomats, & it lays out new criteria for hiring, including “alignment with the president’s foreign policy vision.”

@RachelC_Y @thorsheim just demanding that would likely be a triple felony in #Germany:

I just hope @Bundesregierung , @AuswaertigesAmt and @antidiskriminierung remind the #US #Ambassador they are mere #Guests and that #Diplomats are expected to comply with local laws and customs or they get expelled!
