A defense attorney for Gonzalo Leon Jr., the man accused of killing Julian Guzman in late August, said Monday he planned to file a court motion in which he alleges an “older cousin” of Guzman’s was arrested for unlawfully carrying a gun at the scene of the shooting. But a Houston Police Department spokesperson called it a coincidence and said the department has no evidence the man arrested is related to Guzman or knew him.
