1/3 My parents got a Roomba. Less than two years later, it was gone. The reason?
'I spend more time preparing the house for the robot than I would have if I vacuumed myself.'
Sound familiar?

One day in the midst of pre-cleaning the house, my mom stopped, unplugged the Roomba and gave it away. The device failed to deliver on its promise, therefore it had to go. Many apps need to go too.

A few months ago, I've subscribed to the "Makoto" magazine for Japanese language learners. At first, I read it dutifully, but with time, I gathered a backlog.
I thought, "I just wish I had the printed version!" - but due to the shipment cost, it's not an option.
So I bought a long-arm stapler and decided to print out each magazine in the form of booklets.
Now I read them in bed, which also helps my no-screentime-in-bed goal.

"I spend more time preparing the house for the robot than I would have if I vacuumed myself."
My parents’ Roomba story made me consider modern tech, and I've realized: many tools promise progress but deliver illusion.
