Internet service in #Iran is still only partially restored following the biggest internet shutdown in history.

We're seeing only about half of the traffic volume we were seeing prior to January 8th, when the first shutdown of 2026 began.

🚨Update on the partial restoration of internet in Iran. It has been 24hrs+ since service started coming back in Iran. In that time, traffic levels peaked at 41% of what we saw prior to Jan 8th, which is also below the Jan 27-Feb 28 partial restoration. #DigitalBlackOutIran
Just to keep today's partial restoration of Iranian internet connectivity in perspective, please take a look at this overall timeline. Iran has a long way to go to get back to pre-Jan-8 levels of traffic volumes. #DigitalBlackOutIran

Iran's internet shutdown, the most severe national blackout ever recorded, is in day 77. Authorities are selling whitelisted access through SIM cards, creating a two-tier internet where the privileged browse freely while 90M citizens sit in the dark. #DigitalBlackOutIran

Iran: Türk deplores crackdown on dissent, says rights of all Iranians must be respected

GENEVA – UN Human Rights Chief Volker Türk today deplored the crackdown by Iranian authorities on dissent – in particular through the use of national security-related charges. At least 21 individuals have been executed and thousands of others arrested.Since the start of the devastating joint Israeli-US attacks on Iran two months ago, at least nine people have been executed in connection with the January 2026 protests, ten for alleged membership in opposition groups, and two on espionage charges.
