The theme of #VGMWednesday this time is #DiegeticMusic; music of which characters in the setting are aware. Well, there are a lot of good examples but my personal favorite is of course the Borderlands 3 "When the Hunter Came to Town" from the Bounty of Blood DLC, performed ingame by a musician you rescue from the bandits and who retells the events of that particular story at the local saloon while you are still up and about trying to prevent disaster.

It's a perfect fit with the whole Borderlands vibe in general. In moments like these, the series is at its best.

Took me a bit to think about this #VGMWednesday 's #DiegeticMusic. But I think #FinalFantasyXIII Lightning Returns' goofy side mission to recover a "Songless Diva's" lost voice comes to mind. Really it's the theme of the game's deuteragonist, Serah, from #FFXIII-2 ("Memories"), but sung and played by this mission's diva with her secret admirer...

Hard not to just post that Old Gods of Asgard song again for this week's #VGMWednesday with the theme of #DiegeticMusic, as it's a really good song and Jesse is actually listening to it in headphones as a form of psychic self defence to allow her to access a late game area.

But I thought I'd best post something else, so a really fun scene from Watch Dogs 2 is the short section where you remotely race your stolen Cyberdriver car all across town while blasting out Judas Priest's "Turbo Lover". Great track, great game.
