Eeeee! A couple of years ago we had a single, uncharacteristically hot summer day of 42°C (like 110F or something, more or less) and it wiped out a bunch of plants and left others sunburnt and damaged. Understandably, the small patch of Corsican mint (that was growing in one section where the murdered lawn used to be) just turned up its toes and died...

Or so I thought! Lookie here what's making a comeback!!

I have been proofing my thesis and novel one last time today and this evening I'll send it off to my supervisor to check. Tomorrow I meet with him to go over any final things and then... submission?? I will keep you posted!!

Meanwhile, if you thought that the recent rain would make for the perfect conditions for lawn murder, you'd be correct! I pulled up a heap of runners yesterday and today and planted some more ground covers in the area that's had cardboard on it for about three months. I'll look pretty silly if the season hasn't broken yet but I suspect it'll be OK, even if we still get some warm days.
